I
have been winning prizes and awards in amateur
sports all my life. Was inter-school representative
in amateur athletics and held the records
for sprints, hurdles and throwing events,
and also gymnastics and netball. On leaving
school went on to represent Hong Kong internationally
in Grass Hockey and in partnership with
the Hong Kong Rugby Union, help set up Touch
Rugby for Women in the then British Colony.
During this time, I also started and operated
my unisex aerobics school - men and women
together – what a furore in those
days. One of these classes were for post-pregnant
women wanting flatter lower abs.
About
ten years ago, I suffered a dilapidating
injury to my spine where three lower discs
had slipped and which continue to degenerate,
resulting in my becoming bed ridden for
a period. The following months and years
were spent in terrible pain and frustration
with limited movements. Many of you who
suffer from back injuries will understand
what it is like to wake up, trying to go
about your day – every day in constant
pain and restricted movements – I
literally could not bend over to put on
my own shoes. To add insult to injury, I
had lost my healthy, rock hard body. Doctors
gave me the option of a spinal fusion.
About
two years ago not relishing the choice,
I decided to start on a natural regulated
diet plan and a regime of lower abs and
cardio exercises to help support and strengthen
my spine. The results were amazing. I can
now run miles every week and partake in
aerobics and kick-boxing classes, and will
be ready to start playing hockey again.
This is why this site has been created.
The discovery of how little it took to regain
fitness, strength and my toned abs back
surprised even me at 57 years old. I am
told that I have the body of a 35 year old,
and I want to show you how I did it and
share the results with those who are fighting
to get some semblance back of your old self
or shall I say ‘new’ self.
